Bid Manager | Dorset | Up to £65,000 + 10% bonus
Talent Locker are pleased to be partnered with a global tech leader recruiting for a Bid Manager to join their established Bids team.
Collaborating with the project teams across the portfolio and managing both internal and external partners and stakeholders, the Bid Manager will be accountable for the success of bids across the business whilst ensuring the governance and accuracy is applied to strategy.
This opportunity is based in Dorset and will require 2-3 days per week onsite with attractive flexible working offered.
Responsibilities for the Bid Manager include.
- Manage and lead on the creation of tenders through the bid lifecycle
- Manage bids up to £8 million or more
- Take ownership of all cost / budget management and financial aspects (including accurate pricing estimation whilst ensuring quality is maintained and balanced against cost)
- Manage negotiation through the lifecycle both pre and post submission and act as the single point of contact in relation to the bid encompassing technical, commercial and financial considerations and negotiations
- Prepare and manage all tender documentation and drive quality throughout in line with requirements and deliverables
- Lend on previous experience and knowledge from previous tenders and bids to create a bid that mitigates risk and successfully showcases offerings to a high quality
- Prepare documentation and materials for all tenders and lead review meetings and follow up actions
- Lead and mentor more junior members of the tender team and encourage knowledge transfer from the tender to delivery
- Update and report progress to management and stakeholders (up to board level)
The successful Bid Manager will have experience in the following areas.
- Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering multiple bids in an engineering and project based business or regulated environment
- Budget management of up to £8 million or more
- Technically minded and able to communicate with technical teams, stakeholders, and external customers
- Ability to negotiate and influence as well as challenge at all stages of the bid / tender process
- Working with cross functional teams (Project Management, finance, engineering and commercial)
- Commercially astute and able to identify and mitigate risk
