Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant / D365BC Technical Solution Architect to support a manufacturing client that has recently been let down and now needs immediate expertise.

The client operates in heavy manufacturing (steel), delivering complex projects including bridges and infrastructure for nuclear power stations. This is not a finance-led role – the focus is firmly on manufacturing, estimating, and job costing.

Start: ASAP
Duration: initial 3 months, likely extension
Location: Home-based with on-site in Swansea (approx. 1 day per week initially, more time on-site at project start)
Contract: Outside IR35

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and build of an estimating and costing solution in Business Central / D365BC 

• Work closely with developers to translate business requirements into a robust technical solution

• Support job costing, build of quotes, and project estimates for complex manufactured assets

• Act as a Technical solution architect, ensuring scalability and fit for purpose within a manufacturing environment

• Engage with stakeholders to stabilise and move the project forward quickly

Required Experience

• Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central / D365BC 

• Proven background in manufacturing environments (ideally steel, engineering, or heavy industry)

• Hands-on experience with job costing, estimating, and quoting processes

• Ability to work collaboratively with development teams

• Comfortable operating in a delivery-focused, fast-moving project

Nice to Have

• Experience in project-based manufacturing

• Exposure to regulated or infrastructure-heavy industries
