Senior Platform Engineer (AWS) | Defence | Contract

£600 to £750 per day | Outside IR35 | Cheltenham (3 days onsite) | Enhanced DV Clearance Required

Before Applying: you will need to have Active Enhanced DV (eDV) clearance. Please do not apply if you do not have ‘enhanced developed vetting’; this is one of the highest levels of security clearance, higher than SC, DBS, BPSS, NPPV3, DV.

An opportunity for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to work on a new multi-cloud platform build from the ground up, supporting critical Defence and National Security programmes.

You'll join a small engineering team, taking ownership of platform design, development and deployment, with AWS as a key technology.

The Role

  • Design and build a new multi-cloud platform from the ground up.
  • Develop secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and automate platform deployments.
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes and containerised environments.
  • Establish platform engineering standards, security and automation practices.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver new platform capabilities.

  • Strong AWS Platform Engineering experience.
  • Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Kubernetes and containerisation.
  • GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Linux and Bash scripting.
  • CI/CD automation and DevOps practices.
  • Experience designing and building cloud platforms.
